The following persons shall not be eligible for appointment to the post of Vice-President:-
(a) Non-Nepali citizens,
(b) Fallen in marriage,
(c) Mental balance is not right,
(d)   Convicted by a court of law for corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, sale, distribution or trafficking of narcotics, misuse of passports, extortion or any other criminal offense amounting to moral turpitude,
(e) Being blacklisted in accordance with the prevailing law and not having completed the period of three years after being released from such list,
(f)   not having completed the age of forty-five years,
(g) Being ineligible for appointment as per Article 291 of the Constitution of Nepal.
