<br> to enroll children
After the commencement of this Act, the concerned parents shall enroll every child in the school suitable for him in the class according to his age at the basic level. Explanation: For the purposes of this paragraph, "accessible school" means a school generally within a distance of two kilometers from the residence of the parent of the child concerned.
(2) Regardless of what is written in sub-section (1), taking into account the geographical position, population density, and the number of school-going children of the respective district, it shall not be considered as a hindrance to open a school within a distance of two kilometers.
(3) Children who have been admitted to school in accordance with sub-section (1) without completing their education up to the basic level, parents should not exclude them from school or stop them from going to school for the purpose of depriving them of education.
(4) If children cannot go to school due to financial, geographical or physical, mental condition or any other adversity, arrangements can be made to study in a residential school as specified.
(5) Parents who do not enroll school-age children in school or who drop their children out of school without completing basic education even after enrollment, may be deprived of the facilities provided by the local level.
(6) Arrangements shall be made to motivate the children to go to school after necessary consultation with the concerned parents before depriving them of the facility in accordance with sub-section (5).
