Rule 7
Provisions related to investigation
: While investigating the allegations of criminal acts against children, the investigating officer shall follow the following procedure in addition to the procedure written in the prevailing law:-
(a) Police personnel should wear plain clothes without wearing police uniforms, b) Children should be taken into custody: they should disclose their identity and show their identification documents,
(c) To inform the detained children about their constitutional and legal rights in a language they understand,
(d) to give notice to both or at least one of the child's father-in-law and to his family member or guardian if he is not the father-in-law, in relation to the allegations of criminal acts against the child,
(e) 8 Get the children's physical and mental health checked immediately by a doctor at the nearest government hospital,
(f) Providing child psychologist consultation or psychosocial support as needed,
(g) To have the social worker prepare a social study report of the children,
(h) When preparing any document, both of the children or at least one of them and if the child is not a parent, his family member or guardian, child welfare officer or legal practitioner should be kept in custody,
(i) information about the detention of children immediately related to: the District Child Justice Committee or the Committee, and
(h) To inform the salaried lawyer or the district legal aid committee or the relevant bar unit or other interested legal practitioners in relation to providing free legal aid to the children, unless the child or his parents have taken the services of a separate legal practitioner.
