(1) According to the petroleum contract, all the expenditure incurred in petroleum work before notification of discovery of petroleum shall be considered as exploration capital expenditure.
(2) Exploration capital expenditure incurred after notification of discovery of petroleum in any part of the contract area shall be included in exploration capital expenditure only if the petroleum so found is not deemed to be of commercial importance.
