Rule 4
Emergency Health Services
(1) Emergency health services will be as mentioned in schedule-2.
(2) Basic health service centers and basic hospitals should provide at least general emergency health services as mentioned in Schedule-2. (3) General hospitals, specialist hospitals, specialized hospitals, teaching hospitals under the Academy of Health Sciences and other teaching hospitals shall provide emergency health services as mentioned in Schedule-2.
(4) Ayurveda service centers, specialist Ayurveda hospitals and homeopathy hospitals provide emergency health services according to the relevant medical system. should be provided.
(5) The health institution shall provide emergency health services as per this rule round the clock.
(6) When providing emergency health services, treatment should be given priority based on the severity of the patient's illness.
(7) If the health institution does not provide all the emergency health services needed by the patient who has come for emergency health services in his health institution, he shall immediately provide the emergency health services as far as they are available and immediately send them to another health institution where such services are available. .
(8) Every health institution shall immediately provide emergency services to patients who come to their institution and if necessary, admit the patient to the hospital. (9) Notwithstanding anything else written in this rule, if for any reason the patient is unable to immediately pay the expenses incurred in treating a patient of emergency health services, emergency health services shall also be provided to such patients.
(10) In accordance with this rule, the expenses incurred in providing emergency health services shall be borne in accordance with Section 4 of the Act.
