6.1 Approval to be obtained for production of Ayurvedic medicine: 6.1.1 Government of Nepal should take prior approval of the Ayurveda Department to produce specific types of Ayurvedic medicines prescribed in consultation with the Council and published in the Nepal Gazette. 6.1.2 A person who wants to produce the prescribed Ayurvedic medicines as per sub-section 6.1.1 should submit an application to the Ayurveda Department as prescribed for approval. 6.1.3 In the application received according to sub-section 6.1.2, Ayurveda Department may give approval as prescribed, if the person making the application is not a registered medical practitioner after consulting with the Council after conducting necessary investigation and under the supervision and control of the registered medical practitioner. 6.1.4 Other arrangements related to Ayurvedic medicine production shall be as prescribed. 6.2 Ayurvedic medicines cannot be sold without prescription: Special types of Ayurvedic medicines prescribed by the Government of Nepal in consultation with the Council and published in the Nepal Gazette cannot be sold and distributed without a prescription from a registered doctor.
