Section 7
Work, Duties and Powers of the Commission
The work, duties and powers of the Commission shall be as follows:-
(a) To study the overall situation of the tribal communities and recommend to the Government of Nepal the policy, legal and institutional reforms to be done in this regard,
(b) To formulate national policies and programs for the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of tribal communities and for the empowerment of such communities and to recommend to the Government of Nepal for implementation,
(c) Study and investigate whether the provisions related to the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the tribal communities and the empowerment of such communities have been effectively implemented and suggest to the Government of Nepal regarding the steps to be taken for effective implementation,
(d) To make suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the improvements to be made in the legal, policy and institutional arrangements regarding the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the tribal communities and the empowerment of such communities,
(e) To review, monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies and programs related to tribal communities (f) To monitor or cause the implementation of the recommendations or suggestions made by the commission (g) Recommending to the Government of Nepal to formulate and implement a special program for the development and empowerment of economically or socially backward people within the tribal communities,
(h) Researching the various languages, scripts, cultures, history, traditions, literature, arts within the tribal communities and formulating programs for the preservation and development of such languages, scripts, cultures, history, traditions, literature, arts and recommending to the Government of Nepal, br> (i) Conducting awareness programs for the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the tribal communities and for the empowerment of such communities,
(j) To end the stigma, superstition and all kinds of exploitation in the tribal community and to formulate a program for the empowerment of the tribal community and recommend to the Government of Nepal,
(k) TribalsTo protect and promote the traditional skills, techniques and specific knowledge in the tribal community and help bring them to commercial use,
(l) Monitoring the implementation of international treaty agreements to which Nepal is a party in relation to tribal communities, making necessary recommendations or giving suggestions to the Nepalese government for implementation. (d) Collecting complaints against persons or organizations that violate the rights of tribal communities and recommending to the relevant agencies to investigate and investigate the same,
(d) Recommending to the Government of Nepal to list surnames after conducting a detailed study and research regarding the identity of tribal communities,
(n) To formulate policies and programs for the establishment and operation of a living museum for the preservation and promotion of the material and non-material culture of the tribal communities and to recommend to the Government of Nepal for its implementation,
(p) To recommend to the Government of Nepal to search and investigate the place of origin of tribal tribes and protect and promote such archeological and historical structures, objects and places,
(th) To review, monitor and evaluate the awareness programs conducted by the Government of Nepal and other associations and organizations for the protection, promotion and empowerment of the rights and interests of the tribal communities,
(D) To formulate and implement a code of conduct for the chairman, members and employees of the Commission (d) To approve the annual plan and program of the commission.
