Section 7
Work, Duties and Powers of the Commission
The work, duties and powers of the Commission shall be as follows: –
(A) To study the overall situation of the Tharu community and make recommendations to the Government of Nepal regarding policy, legal and institutional reforms to be made in this regard. (b) To formulate a national policy and program for the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the Tharu community and for the empowerment of such community and recommend to the Government of Nepal for implementation,
(c) To study and investigate whether the provisions related to the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the Tharu community and the empowerment of such community have been effectively implemented and suggest to the Government of Nepal regarding the steps to be taken for effective implementation,
(d) To make suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the improvements to be made in the law, policy and institutional arrangements regarding the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the Tharu community and the empowerment of such community,
(e) To review, monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies and programs related to the Tharu community (f) To monitor or cause the implementation of the recommendations or suggestions made by the commission (g) Recommending to the Government of Nepal to formulate and implement a special program for the development and empowerment of economically or socially backward people within the Tharu community, (h) Studying the language, script, culture, history, tradition, literature and art of the Tharu community Formulating a program for the preservation and development of language, script, culture, history, tradition, literature, art and recommending to the Government of Nepal,
(j) Conduct awareness programs for the protection and promotion of the rights and interests of the Tharu community and for the empowerment of such community,
(j) To end the corruption, superstition and all kinds of exploitation existing in the Tharu community and to formulate a program for the empowerment of the Tharu community and recommend to the Government of Nepal,
(k) Traditional skills, techniques and specific knowledge of the Tharu communityHelping to protect and promote commercial use,
(l) Monitoring the implementation of the international treaty agreements to which Nepal is a party regarding the Tharu community, and making necessary recommendations or suggestions to the Nepal government for implementation,
(D) Collecting complaints against persons or organizations that violate the rights of the Tharu community and recommending to the relevant agencies to investigate and investigate the same, (D) Recommending the Nepal government to conduct a detailed study and research regarding the identity of the Tharu community and list the surnames,
(n) To formulate policies and programs for the establishment and operation of a living museum for the preservation and promotion of the material and non-material culture of the Tharu community and to recommend to the Government of Nepal for its implementation,
(p) Recommending to the Government of Nepal to research the place of origin of the Tharu community and protect and promote such archeological and historical structures, objects and places,
(h) To review, monitor and evaluate the awareness programs conducted by the Government of Nepal and other organizations for the protection, promotion and empowerment of the rights and interests of the Tharu community,
(d) To create and implement a code of conduct for the chairman, members and employees of the commission (d) To approve the annual plan and program of the Commission.
