: (1) Iodine Deficiency Disorder Prevention Committee will be formed with the following chairman and members to implement the policies and instructions of the Government of Nepal:-
(a) Secretary, Ministry of Health – Chairman
(b) Representative (R.P. First Class), Ministry of Industries – Member
(c) Representative (R.P. First Class), Ministry of Supply – Member
(d) Representative (Rep. First Class), Ministry of Commerce – Member
(e) Representative (R.P. First Class), Ministry of Health – Member
(f) Head of Central Food Laboratory – Member
(g) Representative, Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Member
(h) Two persons nominated by the Government of Nepal from among the persons or organizations involved in iodized salt production, importation, supply and sale distribution - members (i) Two nutrition experts nominated by the Government of Nepal - members
(j) One member on behalf of the consumer (k) Officer-Member-Secretary of the Ministry of Health designated by the Government of Nepal (2) The term of office of members and member-secretaries as per clauses (h), (j), (j) and (t) shall be two years and they may be re-nominated.
(3) The committee may invite an expert as an observer in the meeting.
(4) The Government of Nepal may publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette to add or change the members of the committee.
(5) The secretariat of the committee will be in the Ministry of Health.
(6) The government of Nepal will provide the necessary budget for the committee.
