Rule 18
Licensing Provisions

(1) Traders who want to make, repair, sell or provide services for measuring weights or measuring weighing devices, schedule 11 (a) for making measuring weights or measuring weighing devices for license, Schedule-11 (b) for repairing, Schedule for selling- 11 (c) and to provide the service, an application should be submitted to the inspector in the format as per schedule-11 (d).
(2) After receiving the application with the details as per sub-rule (1), the inspector will issue the license as per Schedule-12 to the concerned trader after taking the bond amount and fee as per Schedule-11 (e).
(3) In order to renew the license obtained as per sub-rule (2) every year, an application with details as per schedule-13 should be submitted to the inspector. The inspector should also renew the license after taking the fee as per sub-rule (2).
(4) The license according to sub-rule (2) should be kept visible by all the traders and businessmen at the place where they manufacture, repair, sell or provide services.
(5) According to sub-rule (2), licensed traders and businessmen must keep a record of the measuring weights or weighing instruments manufactured, repaired or sold by them in the manner prescribed by the department and such records must be submitted to the inspector when requested.
(6) In case the licensed traders and businessmen fail to arrange the required workshop and staff according to sub-rule (2) or if they violate the Act and these rules, the inspector may order to revoke, suspend or not renew the license of such traders and businessmen and confiscate the bond amount as well. can do However, such an order will not be given without giving an opportunity to such traders and businessmen to present their justification.
(7) The inspector should keep or cause to be kept the records of licensed traders and businessmen in accordance with Schedule-14 as per sub-rule (2).
