Section 8
Jurisdiction of High Court

(1) The High Court shall have the right to issue necessary and appropriate orders after hearing petitions made under sub-section (1) of Article 144 of the Constitution.
(2) The High Court shall have jurisdiction to initiate and dispose of proceedings in the following cases:
(a) Proceedings initiated and disposed of by the High Court in accordance with federal law,
(b) Cases referred by subordinate courts in accordance with sub-section (1) of Article 145 of the Constitution.
(3) The High Court shall have jurisdiction to hear and decide appeals in the following cases:
(a) Cases initiated and settled by the district court within its territorial jurisdiction in accordance with sub-section (1) of section 7,
(b) a case where the district court has partially or fully annulled the decision on the appeal, based on the initial decision or final order made by the judicial body, quasi-judicial body or official,
(c) a case involving a dispute relating to government or public property decided by the District Court on appeal, punishable with imprisonment or a fine exceeding one lakh rupees or a fine exceeding five lakh rupees,
(d) Cases initiated and disposed of by any judicial body within its provincial jurisdiction, unless otherwise provided for in the federal law.
(4) The High Court shall have the right to examine the seeker in accordance with the federal law.
