Rule 16
Excavation size and area
(1) The Department may determine a rectangular area of not less than 0.25 square kilometers (about one tenth of a square mile) and not more than 25 square kilometers (about ten square miles) for the extraction of minerals.
(2) The measurement of the total length of the area determined according to sub-rule (1) shall not exceed four times the measurement of the total width.
