Section 18
Formation of Industry and Investment Promotion Board
(1) An Industry and Investment Promotion Board has been constituted as follows to make necessary policy decisions along with facilitation and coordination with the aim of accelerating the speed of industrialization by promoting, establishing, increasing investment, protecting and expanding industries:-
(a) Minister of Industry or Minister of State-Chairman
(b) Minister of State for Industries (in case the Minister of Industries presides) – Member
(c) Assistant Minister for Industries – Member
(d) Member, National Planning Commission (Looking at Industrial Sector) – Member
(e) Governor, Nepal Rashtra Bank – Member
(f) Secretary, Ministry of Industries – Member
(g) Secretary, Ministry of Finance – Member
(h) Secretary, Ministry of Labor and Employment – Member
(j) Secretary, Ministry of Commerce – Member
(j) Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture Development – Member
(k) Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communication - Member (l) Secretary, Ministry of Energy – Member
(d) Secretary, Ministry of Forests and Land Conservation - Member (M) Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation - Member (n) Chief Executive Officer, Board of Investment – Member
(p) Director General, Domestic and Small Industries Department - Member
(h) Joint Secretary, Industrial Promotion Division, Ministry of Industry - Member (D) President, Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce - Member
(d) President, Confederation of Nepal Industry - Member
(N) President, Nepal Domestic and Small Industries Federation - Member (p) President, Federation of Women Entrepreneurs - Member
(f) Two members nominated by the Government of Nepal, including at least one woman entrepreneur from among industry experts. (b) Director General, Industries Department – Member – Secretary
(2) If the board deems it necessary, it may invite any secretary of the Government of Nepal or any authorized employee or any local or foreign expert or consultant to participate in the meeting of the board.
(3) The Secretariat of the Board shall be in the Industries Department.
(4) The procedure related to the meeting of the board shall be as determined by the board.
(5) The Secretariat shall submit the details of the decisions made by the Board and the work done to the President of the Board on a monthly basis.
