Section 49
Who can participate in the election with a single election symbol
(1) According to Section 48, two or more parties who want to be recognized for the purpose of election may submit an application to jointly participate in the election by taking the election symbol or any other election symbol obtained by a party.
(2) According to sub-section (1), when submitting a nomination on behalf of a party participating in the election jointly, the party to which such a candidate belongs must also be disclosed.
(3) Notwithstanding anything else written in this Act, if two or more parties jointly participate in the election in accordance with this section, only one parliamentary party shall be formed in the name of the party that obtains the most seats among such parties, and thus the first of the other parties jointly participating in the election shall be elected. The members elected by the electoral system and the proportional election system shall be deemed to be members of the same parliamentary party. However, in accordance with sub-section (1), the new parliamentary party will be formed in accordance with section 24 of the members elected from all such parties for jointly participating in the election by taking a new election symbol. The name of such parliamentary party will be as determined by the said parliamentary party.
(4) If a member of the parliamentary party as per sub-section (3) commits an act contrary to sub-section (1) of section 28, such member shall be deemed to have abandoned the party.
