(1) Only after a person has been found guilty of an offense by the court in accordance with the law, the court shall determine the punishment of such person in relation to such offence. "However, while determining the following offences, the punishment should be determined for the offender:-

• Offenses punishable by imprisonment or a fixed number of fines in the existing law,
• Offenses punishable by imprisonment up to three years or a fine up to thirty thousand rupees,
• In accordance with sub-section (1a) of section 145 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, an offense punishable by imprisonment for life.” It should be determined within thirty days.
