(1) If the Government of Nepal deems that excavation work to search for archaeological objects should be controlled or prohibited, the Government of Nepal may designate an area as a protected area.

(2) After issuing a notification that an area is a safe place according to sub-section (1), the Government of Nepal shall compensate the owner or land owner of that place for the purpose of mining, for the purpose of making necessary arrangements for the necessary settlement of real estate. is After that, the chief archeological officer or the person assigned by him will go and make excavation work and all the objects found in the excavation will belong to the Government of Nepal. If delivered, Nepal government will have to pay compensation and Rs. 500.- will also be liable to a fine.
