The functions, duties and powers of the Central Seed Testing Laboratory shall be as follows:-
(a) To prepare procedures related to seed seed testing based on procedures passed by International Seed Testing Organization.
(b) Testing the purity, germination power, moisture, health and vigor of the seed samples by charging the service fee as prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
(c) According to Clause (b) to provide the test results to the relevant parties in time in the format as per Schedule-14.
(d) Keeping up-to-date analysis report of seed samples.
(e) Sending intermediate sample (proficiency sample) to the laboratory to maintain consistency in the work of the seed testing laboratory.
(f) The guard sample of the sample received for testing should be stored safely for at least one year after the test without affecting the quality of the seed.
(G) To implement the decisions, suggestions and instructions received from the committee and the center.
