: (1) According to Rule 8, if a written request is made for the imprisonment to be shortened, the relevant prison shall shorten the imprisonment of the offender as approved by the President.
(2) According to sub-rule (1), if any body is required to be informed in accordance with the prevailing law, the prison shall inform such body.
