Section 12
Imprisonment sentence can be exempted:

(1) Regardless of what is written in the existing law, a senior citizen who has been sentenced to imprisonment in a case that is being prosecuted may be exempted from imprisonment as follows, considering his age and the nature of the offense:-
(a) up to twenty-five percent for senior citizens who have completed sixty-five years of age and not reached seventy years of age,
(b) Up to fifty percent for senior citizens who have completed seventy years and not reached seventy-five years of age,
(c) up to seventy-five percent for senior citizens who have completed seventy-five years of age.
(1a) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), such exemption shall not be granted in the case of the offense of coercion or the offense of causing death, maiming or bodily harm by using acid inflammable substance.
(2) Regardless of what is written in the current law, the court may order a disabled senior citizen who has been sentenced to imprisonment or a senior citizen who has reached the age of seventy-five years to be kept in a care center instead of being imprisoned.
(2A) According to the order of the court in accordance with sub-section (2), when the senior citizens are placed in the care center, they should be kept separately from other senior citizens.
(3) According to sub-section (2), other arrangements regarding placement in the care center shall be as prescribed.
