(1) If it appears that compensation should be paid to the victim as a result of the investigation and investigation as per Section 12, the Commission shall also make a decision on that matter when making a decision as per Section 15.
(2) In the decision made according to sub-section (1), the type, quantity or amount of compensation must be determined.
(3) While determining the amount according to sub-section (2), the Commission may determine the maximum amount up to three lakh rupees after looking at the condition of the victim.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this section, the Commission shall not make any decision regarding compensation if the victim has received compensation in accordance with other prevailing laws or has taken action for compensation in relation to the violation of human rights.
(5) The basis to be taken while deciding to give compensation in accordance with this section and other arrangements related to compensation shall be as prescribed.
