(1) An election officer or any employee involved in the counting of votes shall not count such votes even though there are reasonable grounds and reasons to believe that a vote is a valid vote or shall not count such votes despite reasonable grounds and reasons to believe that a vote is not a valid vote. br> (2) An election officer or employee who acts contrary to sub-section (1) will be punished according to the law related to his service conditions.
