Section 16
Quality Certification
: (1) Producers, importers or distributors must get quality certification from the Central Food Laboratory before selling and distributing iodized salt through dealers in the Kingdom of Nepal.
(2) Iodized salt produced or imported and sold before the commencement of this Act shall be inspected and quality certified by the Central Food Laboratory within six months from the date of commencement of this Act.
(3) For the purpose of sub-sections (1) and (2), the producer, importer or distributor shall submit an application in the prescribed format to the Central Food Research Institute along with a sample of iodized salt along with a prescribed form.
(4) After receiving the sample with the application in accordance with sub-section (3), the Central Food Research Institute shall test whether the prescribed quality is in accordance with section 15 and if found to be in accordance with the prescribed quality, the quality of such product shall be certified.
(2) Iodized salt produced or imported and sold before the commencement of this Act shall be inspected and quality certified by the Central Food Laboratory within six months from the date of commencement of this Act.
(3) For the purpose of sub-sections (1) and (2), the producer, importer or distributor shall submit an application in the prescribed format to the Central Food Research Institute along with a sample of iodized salt along with a prescribed form.
(4) After receiving the sample with the application in accordance with sub-section (3), the Central Food Research Institute shall test whether the prescribed quality is in accordance with section 15 and if found to be in accordance with the prescribed quality, the quality of such product shall be certified.
