Rule 21
Regarding Garrison Group

(1) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this regulation, ex-soldiers who have retired from any service post of the Nepali Army and have received pension or gratuity can be appointed to a post of the same level as they have received, and fill the post in the post of Garrison Group.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (1), a person who has been dismissed or dismissed from the service of the Nepali Army after being found guilty by a court shall not be appointed to the garrison group.
(3) Notwithstanding anything else written in this regulation, according to sub-rule (1), the military base shall constitute a selection committee to select and recommend qualified candidates for appointment to the vacant posts of the garrison group.
(4) Candidates recommended by the selection committee as per sub-rule (3) shall be appointed by the ministry in the case of officers and the executive in the case of other posts.
(5) To be appointed in the Garrison Group in the following posts, the following age should not be exceeded:-
(a) Mahasenani – fifty-five years
(b) Chief soldier – fifty-four years
(c) Soldier – fifty-three years
(d) Sahasenani – fifty-two years
(e) Sub-Commissioner – Ninety-one years
(f) Assistant Soldier – Fifty years
(g) Subedar – fifty years
(h) Jamdar – fifty nine years
(i) Hudda – Forty-eight years
(j) Amaldar – Forty-seven years
(k) Back – forty six years
(l) Soldier – Forty five years
(d) Followers – fifty-three years
(6) According to the need, the military base may assign the soldiers of other services to work in the garrison group for a certain period of time.
(7) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this rule, the minimum service period and training required to be a candidate for promotion to Garrison Group is the same as that of a soldier of the same level in the general service of the Nepalese Army and the age limit of the officer and the officer of the same level as the technical side of Schedule-3 of the Tenure Act. will be the same.
(8) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (7), the period of service required to be a candidate for promotion to the posts of Pyut, Amaldar, Hudda, Jamdar and Subedar has reached two, four, seven, nine and eleven years respectively in the rank of constable and the age limit is the authorized age.Fifty-five years in case of one follower and chief subedar and fifty-four years in case of others.
(9) Other arrangements related to the filling of positions of the garrison group will be as prescribed by the Nepali Army.
(10) The period of service of a person appointed in the Garrison Group will be counted in his service period for the purpose of pension.
(11) Soldiers who are appointed to the Garrison Group and are entitled to pension will receive the full amount of medical treatment if they have not taken the amount for medical treatment at the time of retirement from service. If money is taken for medical treatment, only the remaining amount will be received after deducting the amount previously taken.
(12) If a person who has received gratuity in any position of Nepali Army is appointed in Garrison group, only if he returns the amount of gratuity received earlier, his previous service period will be counted in the current position as per this rule.
(13) A soldier assigned to the garrison group will get pension if he adds the previous service period to the later service period. (14) If a retired soldier is appointed to a position in the garrison group to receive pension, he will not receive pension as long as he remains in that position.
