(1) A District Education Committee shall be formed in each district for the supervision and management of schools within the district. The members will be:-

(A) Head of District Coordination Committee – Chairman

(B) Chief District Officer – Member

(e) One member nominated by the district education committee from among the chairpersons of the school management committee of the community schools within the district.

(f) One member nominated by the District Education Officer from among the chairpersons of the school management committee of institutional schools within the district

(h) Three members, including at least one Dalit and one woman, nominated by the district education committee from among parents or educationists. Officer-Member-Secretary

(3) The term of office of the nominated member according to sub-section (2) shall be two years. If the nominated member does not behave according to his position, the nominating officer or body can remove him at any time.

However, before removing him from the position, he shall not be deprived of the opportunity to submit his explanation.

(5) The work, duties and powers of the District Education Committee shall be as follows:-

(a) Formulating district level plans related to education,

(A1)………

(B) Inspiring village development committee and municipality to provide financial support to community schools,

(C) Examination in a dignified and clean environment within the district. Assisting in operation, (d) making arrangements to raise resources for the development of the educational quality of the district, (e) determining the remuneration of auditors of community schools, ( f) In the basic schools up to class five under the community schools within the district, the minimum class quota is maintained on the basis of geographical difficulty in the case of remote districts and on the basis of the number of students in the case of other districts.and to distribute and match the posts available by the Government of Nepal on a subject basis for basic schools from classes six to eight and secondary schools,

(g) Give necessary instructions to the school management committee.

(6) District Other work, duties, rights and meeting procedures of the Education Committee will be as prescribed.
