: Under section 34 and section 35, if the Government of Nepal has set a period for the undelivered postal items, they will be left in the post box until that period and other actions will be taken according to the rules. But–
(a) If there is a letter in the postal item that cannot be delivered, destroy it and in the case of other postal item, if it is a non-perishable salable item or cash amount, such item or cash amount shall be left in the post box for a period of one year and until that period someone can show their right. If it is not possible, if it is a cash amount, it will be cash and if it is a salable item, the cash amount that has been sold will be deposited in the General Fund of the Government of Nepal.
(b) In the case of foreign postal items, if there is any agreement between the Government of Nepal and the country from which such postal item is received, it should be returned in accordance with the agreement and if there is no such agreement, it should be returned according to the Universal Postal Union (World Postal Union) convention.
