Rule 27
Providing additional facilities

(1) For the purpose of sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Act, the Board shall provide additional facilities in addition to the facilities available under Section 12 of the various Acts for the following projects:-
(a) Railway services exceeding 200 kilometers in length,
(b) priority express roads designated by the Government of Nepal,
(c) Petroleum Refinery Plant,
(d) A hospital with a capacity of more than five hundred beds operated using state-of-the-art technology,
(e) Underground metro rail having a length of more than ten kilometers,
(f) Monorails exceeding ten kilometers in length,
(g) Tunnel route of length prescribed by the Board,
(h) storage hydropower projects with an installed power generation capacity of more than 500 MW,
(i) Chemical fertilizer projects with an annual production capacity of at least three lakh metric tonnes,
(j) Projects that provide at least five thousand jobs at a time,
(k) a project exporting at least ninety percent of the total output of the project producing capacity as determined by the Board,
(l) any other project determined by the Board from time to time for the purposes of this bye-law.
(2) Additional facilities to be provided as per sub-rule (1) shall be as follows as per requirement:-
(a) Capital subsidy on construction materials during the construction of the project,
(b) Partial subsidy of electricity tariff used during the construction or operation of the project,
(c) provision of government or public land at subsidized rates or free of cost for implementation of project construction,
(D) Additional tax exemptions in addition to the exemptions available under the prevailing law (e) Arrangements for providing loans at lower interest rates than those prevailing in the capital market,
(f) Arrangements for free or subsidized use of existing infrastructure owned by the Government of Nepal,
(g) Other financial facilities determined by the Board from time to time.
(3) Before providing the facilities as per sub-rule (2), the board shall obtain the consent of the concerned body of the Government of Nepal.
