Section 96
Penalty Punishment
(1) A person who commits an offense under sub-section (1) or (2) of section 95 shall be punished with confiscation of property related to the said offense and a fine of up to three times the amount of the property or imprisonment for a term of up to seven years or both. If it is not possible to do so, depending on the amount of the offence, the punishment shall be a maximum fine of ten lakh rupees or imprisonment for a term of up to three years or both. (4) A person who commits an offense under section 95 or a person who is indirectly involved in committing such an offense or who assists in committing such an offense or an officer who assists in committing an offense of a related firm, company or organization shall be the main accused. The person will be punished up to half of the prescribed punishment.
