(1) It shall not be mandatory to register any composition, sound recording, presentation or broadcast in order to obtain the rights under this Act.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), if a composition, sound recording, performance or broadcast wishes to be registered voluntarily, it can be registered by submitting an application to the registrar and the procedure for registration shall be as prescribed.
