Rule 8
Renewal of Certificate of Registration
(1) According to Section 31 of the Act, if you want to renew the certificate of registration, you have to submit an application in the form of Schedule-11 to an office along with the fee as per Schedule-3.
(2) If an application is made in accordance with sub-rule (1), the office may renew the certificate of registration subject to the Act and other provisions mentioned in this regulation, after conducting the necessary technical examination and deeming it appropriate to renew the certificate of registration according to the request of the applicant.
(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1), the renewal of registration certificate of the following vehicles shall be renewed only by the registration office:-
(a) registered as diplomatic vehicles,
(b) registered in the name of persons receiving diplomatic privileges,
(c) Temporary registered.
(4) If the registration certificate issued by one office is renewed by another office, the office renewing the same shall inform the vehicle registration office as soon as possible, and if such information is received, the office where the vehicle is registered shall also inform the office that the registration certificate of the vehicle has been renewed as per Schedule-5. It should be mentioned in the vehicle registration book.
