Rule 8
Dana checker rights
(1) The grain inspector may exercise the following rights in the course of performing his duties:-
(a) taking samples of feedstuffs from places where feedstuffs are produced or stored or sold and distributed,
(b) If he feels that there is a possibility of spread of communicable diseases through the sale and distribution of any feed material, and if in his opinion the local veterinary officer also agrees, he will take the approval of the local authority to stop the sale and distribution of such feed material,
(c) If there is reasonable doubt that any foodstuff is contaminated, take the approval of the local authority and prohibit the sale and distribution of such foodstuff,
(d) In case of checking grain materials, in case it is necessary to enter the house where any grain material is kept or any such goods, after taking the permission of the owner of that house or any person in charge of that place and if such person does not give permission, the concerned village development committee or municipality or A representative of the nearest police station will enter as a witness,
(e) In relation to the person who produces the grain or any other grain found in the place where the grain is produced or any other substance that may be mixed with the grain, if the producer is unable to state a satisfactory use, if he sees or suspects the possibility that the substance may be mixed with the grain being produced while it is there. To order the immediate removal of such substance from there,
(f) If there is a reasonable suspicion that any grain being exported or transported is contaminated, stop it and take necessary action according to this regulation, and
(G) To send the sample of grain material taken according to this regulation for analysis by any government or non-government means of transport or post for analysis.
(2) The notification of the action taken in accordance with clauses (b), (c) and (f) of sub-rule (1) shall be immediately sent to the local authority and the head of the Central Food Laboratory by the grain inspector.
