Rule 22
License to collect samples or capture or hunt wild animals and birds
1 Any person who wants to capture or hunt any wild animal or bird for scientific research or to collect any other insects (germs, fish or any natural product) must submit an application to the chief. 2 If the person making the application according to sub-rule 1 is an official of a recognized study institute or zoo or scientific laboratory and if such person is believed to be able to capture or maintain as follows, in the case of other animals or birds mentioned in Schedule (1) of the Act, in the case of other than wild animals or birds mentioned in Schedule (2) The chief may give a license to hunt the relevant wild animals or to catch insects. (a) If the applicant supervises the capture or collection of the relevant wild animals, birds or insects by himself or by sending a competent representative for that work,
(b) If the method of catching the concerned wild animals or birds is reasonable and does not cause more suffering than necessary,
(c) Proper maintenance or transportation of captured wild animals or birds. 3 The term of the license granted according to sub-rule 2 will be generally three months.
