Rule 12
Stitching in measuring weights
(1) The inspector shall check whether such measuring weights and measuring instruments are in accordance with the Act and these rules before affixing the stamp on any measuring weights and measuring weighing instruments.
(2) In measuring weights and weighing devices, the stamp of the merchant who made the device should not match the stamp of the inspector.
(3) The inspector must put a stamp as per schedule-7 on the measuring weights and weighing instruments brought before him for the purpose of examination. However, if it is felt that the measurement weight and measuring weighing device will wear out or wear out or is not strong when it is brought into commercial use, then such measuring weight and measuring weighing device should not be attached.
(4) When affixing a stamp according to sub-rule (3), the inspector shall affix a stamp including the date of examination as far as possible on the measuring weights and measuring weighing devices other than the glass, earthen enamel coated acceptance scales.
(5) After the inspector completes the work of checking and stitching, the relevant trader should be given a certificate according to schedule-8 of checking the measuring weight and measuring weighing device.
(6) The certificate obtained according to sub-rule (5) must be kept visible to all at the place where the weighing and measuring equipment is used and the temporary itinerant trader must keep such certificate with him.
