(1) Protection, repair and restoration of privately owned ancient monuments within the protected monument area shall be done by the concerned person. If it is deemed necessary to protect, repair and restore ancient monuments considered to be private, the Department of Archeology shall do the preservation, repair and restoration of such ancient monuments. And to restore or demolish such ancient monuments, the person concerned must obtain the approval of the Department of Archaeology.

(3) Protection, repair and restoration of ancient monuments in private ownership outside the protected monument area shall be done by the local level or related person under the direction of the Department of Archeology.< /p>

However, the preservation, maintenance and restoration of private ancient

monuments under the Guthi Institute will be done by the Guthi Institute under the supervision, technical services and guidance of the Department of Archaeology. If such private ancient monuments are not protected, repaired and restored by Guthi Sansthan, without the approval of Guthi Sansthan, the Department of Archeology itself or the local level or any person may cause such private ancient monuments to be protected, repaired and restored.

(4) Subsection According to (2) or (3) without taking a signature or doing any act contrary to the instructions, he can be punished with a fine of ten thousand rupees to one lakh rupees or imprisonment for six months or both.
