(1) Employer's liability towards construction workers shall be as follows:-
(a) To provide sufficient quantity of tools, equipment and materials required for construction,
(b) Arranging temporary accommodation and clean drinking water for the workers who do not live near the construction site and making arrangements for the supply of necessary food materials,
(c) Arranging suitable safety at the construction site. Explanation: For the purpose of this section,–
(1) "Construction works" means the construction of buildings, roads, bridges, canals, bridges, inland or inland waterways, railways, construction works or power plants, telecommunications, telephone or telegraphic structures and other similar structures and the term includes such structures; Also refers to the act of connecting devices, tools or equipment.
(2) "Construction workers" means workers engaged in construction work.
(2) A person or organization who undertakes or contracts for construction work shall be considered an employer for the purposes of this Act.
(3) When determining the rate of wages and other benefits for construction workers, the trade union and construction professional association at the relevant level must be represented.
(4) Other arrangements related to construction workers shall be as prescribed.
