Section 30
Removable

(1) If the Vice-Chancellor, the Chairman of the Service Commission or the Registrar has not fulfilled the duties commensurate with his position, has not worked honestly or has not behaved in accordance with the position, if one-fourth of the members of the immediately existing members in the Assembly submit a written request to the Chancellor to remove him from the position, the Chancellor, under the chairmanship of any member of the Assembly, A three-member investigation committee will be formed, consisting of a member of the Grants Commission and the Secretary of the Ministry of Education of the Government of Nepal (2) The inquiry committee constituted as per sub-section (1) shall conduct the necessary investigation and submit its report to the Chancellor within thirty days.
(3) After receiving the report as per sub-section (2), the chancellor shall present the report to the assembly.
(4) If the Assembly decides to remove the Vice-Chancellor, Chairman of the Service Commission or the Registrar during the discussion on the report submitted in accordance with Sub-section (2), the Chancellor shall remove such Vice-Chancellor, Chairman of the Service Commission or the Registrar.
(5) According to sub-section (4), he will be given an opportunity to submit a clarification before being removed from office.
(6) The procedure to be followed in case of investigation or removal from office of the vice-chancellor, chairman of the service commission or registrar, other officials of the university on charges under sub-section (1) shall be as prescribed.
(7) If an investigation is started against an officer according to this section, he shall not be allowed to work in the position he is holding until the final decision is made.
(8) The Vice-Chancellor may assign responsibility to senior officials of the University to perform the daily work performed by the officials under sub-section (6).
