17. Term of office:

(1) The term of office of the vice-chairman and the member appointed in accordance with clause (c) of sub-section (2) of section 3 shall normally be five years and he may be re-appointed.
(2) If the position of any member of the Commission becomes vacant while the term of office as per sub-section (1) remains, the Government of Nepal may appoint another member for the remaining period of the vacancy.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), the Government of Nepal may change the vice president and members.
