Section 2
Definition:

In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,—
(a) "Ancient monument" means a temple monument, house, temple, Shivalaya, monastery, monastery, vihara, stupa, etc., which is important from the point of view of history, art, science, architecture or architecture, and the term includes the place where the monument is located and the national or refers to human settlements or sites that are connected to each other or isolated in the same locality and the remains of ancient human settlements, ruins of ancient monuments, caves, etc., which have special value from an international point of view.

(c) "Curio" means items related to modern handicrafts not exceeding one hundred years old. (d) "Protected Monument Area" shall mean a place or area with an ancient monument declared as a Protected Monument Area in accordance with Section 3.
(e) "Chief Archaeological Officer" shall mean the Director General of the Department of Archaeology (f) "Conservation" means the work of keeping the monument in good condition by fencing, covering, repairing, and keeping it clean.

(g) "Local level" means rural municipality or municipality.
