Section 2
Definition
In this Code unless the subject or the context otherwise requires:-
(a) "Court" shall mean the Supreme Court, High Court or District Court and the term shall also refer to any other court, judicial body or officer empowered to hear and dispose of certain types of civil cases in accordance with the law.
(b) “Law” means the law for the time being in force.
(c) "Person" means a natural person and the term also refers to a legal person.
(d) "Claim" shall mean a plaint and the term shall also mean any other kind of complaint, claim, counterclaim or similar application.
(e) "Minor" means a child who has not completed the age of eighteen years.
(f) “Local level” means village municipality or municipality.
(g) “Property” means movable or immovable property.
(h) "Haqwala" means a person who is in the priority order of receiving aputali under section 239.
