– In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Wage labour" means labor or service rendered for the creditor without wages or at low wages for the following reasons -
(1) To repay the loan or the interest on it taken by him or his family,
(2) To repay a debt or interest thereon taken by an ancestor,
(3) In case of any wage-labourer's deposit with the creditor, in order to repay the wage-labour debt of such wage-labourer,
(b) "Kamaiya Shramik" means a person who works as a buffoon, Gaiwar, Vardikar, Chhekarwar, Haruva, Karuva, Hali, Gothalo, Kamalaria or other similar names.
(c) "Earnings loan" means cash, goods or goods taken by wage laborers from lenders and the term also refers to loans or other loans.
(d) "Lender" means a person who provides loans to wage labourers.
(e) "Family" means father, mother, husband, wife, son or ……..daughter and that term also refers to the members of his household if the person who works as the head of the household is a wage laborer.
(f) "Exempted worker" means exempted worker as per section 3.
(g) "Committee" means the Freelance Rehabilitation and Monitoring Committee established under Section 8.
(h) "Welfare Officer" shall mean the Welfare Officer as per Section 10.
(i) "Fund" means the fund as per section 12.
(j) "Agricultural worker" means a person who works as prescribed by the Government of Nepal by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(k) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
