In this Act, unless the context or the context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Commission" shall mean the Water Tariff Determination Commission constituted as per Section 3.
(b) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Commission.
(c) "Member" means a member of the Commission and the term also refers to the Chairman of the Commission.
(d) "Natural water" means water that has been emanating from eternally existing stone streams, wells, rivers, streams, wells, ponds, lakes or surface natural sources or extracted from underground sources.
(e) "Drinking water service" means the work of treating and purifying natural water and providing it to consumers.
(f) "Sanitation service" means the work of destroying, removing, processing or purifying waste water released from human excrement or after domestic, commercial or industrial use and all kinds of waste materials mixed in such water.
(g) "Service" means drinking water or sanitation service.
(h) "Service system" means a pipe, reservoir, drinking water, waste water or sewage mixed water treatment or purification plant or other similar equipment or structure constructed or installed for the purpose of providing drinking water or sanitation services.
(i) "Service provider" means a person, consumer group or organized organization that provides services for a fee.
(j) "Fee" means the fee that the service provider can collect from the consumer for providing the service.
(k) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
