: In this Act, unless the subject or clause otherwise requires,-
(a) "Institute" shall mean the Nepali Language Publication Institute established under this Act.
(b) "Committee" shall mean the Board of Directors of the Institute.
(c) "Managing Director" shall mean the immediate Managing Director of the Institute and this term also refers to the person acting on his behalf.
(d) "Book" refers to government, non-government publications, books, booklets, posters, charts, calendars, school colleges and useful reading materials for the general public.
(e) "Shareholder" means a person who receives shares distributed under the rules made under this Act.
(f) "Foreign Agency" means any foreign government or agency of a foreign government or any international organization or foreign organization.
(g) "Director" shall mean the immediate director of the Institute.
(h) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" shall mean prescribed or prescribed in the rules or regulations made under this Act.
