Section 2
Definition
In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Animal" means any kind of domestic or wild animal and the term includes birds and fish.
(b) "animal product" means animal flesh, blood, fat, bile, milk, flowers, bones, skin, hair, hoof, feathers, wool, hides, hair, embryos, semen, glands, dung, urine or derived from them; Unprocessed goods should be considered.
(c) "Animal production material" means processed or unprocessed material used in animal health, in artificial insemination or in the production of organic matter.
(d) "Biologicals" means drugs, vaccines or biological chemicals containing bacteria or viruses used for animal development or animal health.
(e) "Quarantine Checkpost" means Animal Quarantine Checkpost established by the Government of Nepal in accordance with Section 3.
(f) "Quarantine" means the keeping of animals, animal products or animal products for testing at a specific place for a specified period of time to ensure that no disease has been contracted in any animal, animal product or animal product. < br> (g) "Quarantine Officer" means the Quarantine Officer appointed as per Section 5.
(h) "Quarantine place" means a place where animals, animal products or animal products are kept in quarantine for testing.
(i) "Infectious disease" means the diseases mentioned in the schedule and also the other diseases prescribed by the Government of Nepal by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(j) "Department" means Government of Nepal, Department of Animal Services.
(k) “Head of Office” means ……………. A person who works as the head of animal service office or other designated office should be considered.
(l) "Veterinary Inspector" means an officer appointed or designated as per section 25.
(d) "Importer" means a person who imports animals, animal products or animal products from outside Nepal.
(l) "Exporter" means a person who exports animals, animal products or animal products from the dominion of Nepal.
(n) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
