Unless the subject or context requires otherwise, in this Act, – (a) “Chairman” shall mean the Chairman of the Commission and the term shall also refer to the Acting Chairman. (b) "Commission" means the Madhesi Commission under Article 262 of the Constitution.
(c) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
(d) "Madhesi Community" means the community defined by the Government of Nepal on the recommendation of the Commission.
(e) "Member" means a member of the Commission and the term also includes the Chairman. (f) "Constitution" means the Constitution of Nepal.
