In this process, unless the subject or context indicates otherwise, –
(a) "Safe Abortion" means s. 28 of the Civil Code relating to Life No. It should be considered a safe abortion that can be performed in a situation where you are not considered to be pregnant.
(b) "Service" means s. 28 B. No. It shall mean safe abortion services provided in accordance with this procedure subject to the provisions mentioned in (c) "Physician" shall mean a physician registered in the Nepal Medical Council established in accordance with the Nepal Medical Council Act, 2020 and listed in accordance with section 3.
(d) "Healthcare worker" means a health care worker who is registered in the professional council related to health care established in accordance with the prevailing law and listed in accordance with section 3.
(e) "Health institution" shall mean a health institution established in accordance with prevailing laws for the purpose of providing health services and listed in accordance with section 5, and the term also refers to the place where such health institution provides services.
(f) "List" means the list prepared as per schedule-2 and 5 to list the names of doctors and health workers and health institutions.
(g) "close relative" means the husband, mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, older brother, brother, sister, son, daughter, nephew, niece, uncle, aunt, maternal uncle, cousin of the concerned pregnant woman and The word also refers to the immediate guardian.
(h) "Department" means the Department of Health Services of the Government of Nepal.
(i) "Director General" means the Director General of the Department.
(j) "Associated Officer" means the Director General or the officer appointed by him or the Head of the District Health Office.
(k) "Committee" means the Safe Abortion Services Consultative Committee constituted under section 13.
