In this Act unless the subject or context requires otherwise –
(a) "postal item" means a letter, post card, letter-magazine, book, sample packet, parcel and any other thing or item capable of being moved by post.

(b) "post office" This means that a post office established by the government of Nepal should be considered as a post office to transport postal items from one area to another within Nepal.
(c) "Postal Director" means the Director of the Postal Department of the Government of Nepal (d) "Insurance" shall mean insurance against loss or damage in case of shipment by post.
(e) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
