In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Birta" shall mean all types of exempted land acquired in whole or in part.
(b) "Birtawal" means the owner of the land in accordance with Clause (a).
(c) “crop” means—
(1) The amount due on the land to be paid to the Birtawal by the earner of Birta land, or
(2) If earned by Birtawal himself, it should be considered the crops grown on that land.
(d) "Amount" means furnace, charsa and other similar amounts.
