In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,-

(a) “building” means a residential, industrial, commercial, office, auditorium, hospital, cold store, godown house or other It means any physical structure made for some use and the word also refers to any part of such a structure.
(b) "Building Code" means the National Building Code approved by the Government of Nepal in accordance with sub-section (2) of Section 9.
(c) "Building construction" means building a new building, demolishing an old building and rebuilding it, adding a floor, changing the roof or adding or subtracting windows, doors, windows, doors, corridors, etc. to the old building or any other work related to it.< br> (d) "Committee" means the Building Construction System Strengthening Committee constituted as per Section 3.
(e) "Map" means all drawings, details and other documents related to building construction.
(f) "Municipality" shall mean a municipality formed in accordance with the prevailing law and the term also refers to a metropolitan municipality and a sub-metropolitan municipality.
(g) "Government body" means the ministry, secretariat, department and office of the Government of Nepal and the term also refers to commissions, councils and committees formed in accordance with prevailing laws.  (h) "Urban Development Office" means Urban Development and Building Division Office.
