Unless the subject or context requires otherwise, in this Act:

(a) “Foreign investment” means government securities, shares, bank accounts, money invested in real estate and all other things invested abroad by Nepali citizens. It also refers to the type of cash investment.

However, the current account (current account) opened for the facility of export and import in Nepal will not be accepted.

(b) “Foreign investment "Tax" shall mean the tax levied on the investment as per clause (a).

(c) "Tax officer" shall mean the tax officer appointed or designated by the Government of Nepal for the purposes of this Act.
