Section 47
Responsibilities of family members and guardians
: (1) Family members or guardians should provide care and education opportunities to the disabled person with special attention according to the condition of the disability.
(2) If a disabled person is at risk if not treated, the family member or guardian should take him to the nearest hospital or health institution designated by the Government of Nepal for immediate treatment.
(3) A person with a disability cannot be expelled from the family or neglected.
(4) The Government of Nepal, the State Government and the local level may provide training and other necessary services related to self-care and caregiving to the families of persons with disabilities in order to help them fulfill their responsibilities towards the persons with disabilities.
