Section 8
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Council

(1) The work, duties and powers of the Council shall be as follows:
(a) Examination of entrants to the profession of law.
(B) To arrange the procedure related to registration of name in law practitioner.
(c) To register qualified persons as legal practitioners.
(d) To monitor whether legal practitioners work in accordance with the code of professional conduct prescribed for legal practitioners.
(e) To receive complaints related to acts of law practitioners against professional conduct and to send them to the disciplinary committee for action.
(f) prescribing the procedure to be adopted by the disciplinary committee and other committees.
(g) Prosecuting those who act against the provisions of this Act.
(h) To protect the honor, reputation, safety, rights and benefits of legal practitioners.
(i) To encourage quality legal education and to recommend suitable academic standards for the legal profession in consultation with the university.
(j) Appointing necessary employees for the council and arranging their wages and other facilities.
(k) To provide legal professionals with practical experience of law business and provide necessary training and education to make law business dignified.
(l) Arranging studies, discussions, meetings, seminars, lectures, etc. to promote the interests of legal professionals and arranging necessary publications.
(d) To manage the funds of the Council.
(d) perform other functions prescribed by this Act, and
(n) To carry out other tasks necessary to fulfill the purpose of this Act.
(2) The council may delegate some of its powers under this Act to any councillor, secretary, committee or member of the committee.
